The Fifth Delight
Shri Raghavendra Gurusarvabhauma
81. Shri Guru's Journey Through Dakshina Kannada
Continuing his Digvijaya Yatra (spiritual conquest), Shri Raghavendra Swami remained devoted to the upliftment of disciples and devotees. Wherever he traveled, he granted blessings, uplifted the downtrodden and suffering, and fulfilled the wishes of all who sought his grace.
After completing his travels across the southern regions, he proceeded toward the present-day Dakshina Kannada district.
As part of his journey, Shri Raghavendra Swami arrived at Vishnumangala, where he worshiped Lord Vishnu. Deeply satisfied after experiencing the divine vision (darshan) and service (seva) of the Supreme Lord, he continued his pilgrimage.
Next, he arrived at Subrahmanya Kshetra, the sacred abode of Lord Subrahmanya (Shiva Kumara), known for removing ailments such as leprosy. With deep devotion, Shri Raghavendra Swami offered prayers, stayed there for a while, and spread the knowledge of Tatva and Dharma, blessing the virtuous.
Since Udupi is the birthplace and foundation of the Dvaita philosophy, and recognizing the importance of Shri Raghavendra Swami’s visit, the Paryaya Peetha of Shri Sode Mutt, along with the head of the Sarvajna Simhasana (seat of omniscience), made elaborate arrangements to welcome him with great honor.
